I am having issues casting the YR App on my Smart TV

If you are trying to cast the YR OnDemand App to your TV and running into issues, work through the steps below in order. Most casting problems come down to a network or permission issue and can be resolved without contacting support.

I cannot see the cast icon in the app

The cast icon only appears when your phone detects a compatible casting device on the same network. If the icon is missing:

  1. Confirm your phone and your Chromecast or AirPlay device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. This is the most common cause.

  2. Check that your phone has permission to access the local network. On iPhone, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network and make sure Home OnDemand is toggled on.

  3. On Android, check that the app has been granted nearby devices or local network permissions in your phone settings.

  4. Fully close the Home OnDemand app and reopen it. The cast icon should appear once the app detects the casting device.

  5. Restart your Chromecast or AirPlay device (unplug it and plug it back in).

  6. Restart your Wi-Fi router if restarting devices does not help.

Note: The cast icon appears inside a video, not on the home screen of the app. Make sure you are looking for it within the video player.

The cast icon appears but casting is not working

  1. Make sure the app is up to date. Check the App Store or Google Play for any available updates.

  2. Fully close the app, reopen it, and try casting again.

  3. Try a different class or video to rule out a content-specific issue.

  4. If using Chromecast, open the Google Home app on your phone and confirm the device is online and working correctly.

  5. Test whether other apps (like YouTube) can cast to the same device. If they cannot, the issue is with your network or casting device rather than Home OnDemand.

Casting was working before but has stopped

This often happens after an app update, a router change, or a device restart. Try the following:

  • Uninstall and reinstall the Home OnDemand app.

  • Forget and reconnect to your Wi-Fi network on your phone.

  • Factory reset your Chromecast if other troubleshooting has not worked (note: this will remove all settings from the device).

AirPlay-specific troubleshooting

  • Make sure both your Apple device and your AirPlay TV are on the same Wi-Fi network.

  • Check that AirPlay is enabled on your TV (usually found in the TV settings under AirPlay or AirPlay & HomeKit).

  • Restart the Home OnDemand app and try again.

  • If AirPlay is not showing your TV as an option, restart both your Apple device and the TV.
